Liferay Portal Administrator

POSITION: Contract role until March 2021.
    COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible.
      REQUIREMENTS:
      • 3-5 years
      • Custom digital solution development advantageous
      • Formal qualification in IT (Diploma / Degree) or equivalent working experience with Liferay Applications
      • South African Citizens Only
      • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Development, Administration, Deployment, Up- grading of Liferay Portals with high availability requirements.
      • The candidate must have demonstrable experience in the maintenance and support of Liferay content management systems and have a firm grasp on Liferay administration principles.

      • The position entails working in 2nd 3rd level IT support groups managing software system related incidents for the retails portals and services.
      • Mid skills level
      RESPONSIBILITIES:
        Operational Support :
        • Managing incidents relating Portals using Administrative and Deployment skills of Liferay.
        • Exposure to the Integrating Portal with different external environments using Webservices
        • Monitor and update production issues raised on an ongoing basis.
        • Ensure production issues gets resolved within SLA.
        • Ensure production issues are allocated to the correct SME, work with dev team lead to resolve timeously correctly.
        • Assist with facilitating emergency changes required on production environment.
        • Ensure after hour support calls are answered and developer on support is contacted if required to assist.
        • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues on SIT, E2E, UAT and production environments when needed.
        • Root cause analysis of Production Related Incidents.
        • Assist with release notes and deployment documentation for future releases
        • Ensure production support documentation is maintained in Confluence.
        • Log production issues in JIRA.
        • Assist team to reduce production issues
        • Assist teams with Testing Activities
        Other Skill Requirements :
        • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
        • Strong ability to troubleshoot and interpret Business needs and requirements.
        • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with both technical and non-technical colleagues / users.
        • Strong Presentation skills.
        • Should be willing to deal with (talk to) our customers. In most cases they will be foreign customers and language barriers might exist. Customer care is very important.
        • Ability to work as part of a team, inter-dependant as well as independently and submit deliverables on time and in excellent quality. SELF STARTER.
